Curating and Publishing OER Resources - An In-Depth Look at Three Platforms
Thursday, May 30, 2019 – 9:00 am to 12:00 pm
Are you considering developing an OER text-equivalent or creating one by curating existing OER? These three webinars are a follow-up to an introductory webinar that introduced attendees to these platforms. In each of these one-hour sessions, a platform will be explored with a focus on the user experience. Topics to be addressed will include usability, accessibility, print options, attributions, available integrations, collaboration options, and interfacing with Canvas. Join us for one, two, or all three. Please note you must register for each webinar separately.
The Academic Senate for California Community Colleges (ASCCC) Open Educational Resources Initiative (OERI) is an ASCCC initiative that has five initial years of funding. Primary goals of the OERI are to increase student success and address educational inequities by increasing the availability of open educational resources (OER) and adoption of OER text-equivalents by California community college (CCC) faculty. In order to contribute to the available OER, the OERI will fund the development of resources by CCC faculty that address identified gaps in currently available OER. All products completed with these funds must be licensed as CC-BY or CC-BY-NC (please see https://creativecommons.org/licenses/ for details about these Creative Commons licenses). Individual faculty or teams of faculty may apply.
The goal of this funding opportunity is to increase the adoption of open educational resources in the California community colleges by increasing the availability and adoptability of OER text-equivalents. “Adoptability” may be increased through the modification of existing resources or the development of ancillaries.
This initial OER development funding opportunity is explicitly designed for projects of a limited scope that can be completed in a short period of time. The OERI anticipates funding projects with a broader scope and a longer duration in the future.
